SAM LILLEY - 2019 Team Assistant Coach

Coach Lilley was the Varsity Head Coach for the Battlefield High School girls from from 2012-2015 and has been the Head Coach for the BattleLax 2019 girls team since 2013. He is a US Lacrosse Certified Level II Coach. His daughter, Sam Lilley, is his assistant coach and shares his same passion for girls lacrosse.

As a coach for Galaxy Lacrosse, their focuses are to challenge each individual girl to improve her lacrosse skill level and knowledge so she can maximize her high school experience. We will also assist players and parents with the collegiate recruiting process by providing guidance and facilitating interaction with coaches. Finally, to organize and field a competitive team that performs well in the tournament competition and has fun!

In addition to being a great coach, Coach Lilley has been instrumental in the success of our overall girls program!


Casey Weaver - 2020 Team Head Coach

Coach Weaver is currently a varsity coach at Battlefield High School in Haymarket, VA and previously spent three seasons involved in the development of the varsity program at Stonewall Jackson High School in Manassas, VA. She played for four years at Brentsville District High School and recreationally at Michigan State University.

Coach Weaver coached for BattleLax Lacrosse for 6 years throughout summer and fall seasons, as well as BattleLax Winter Boot Camp and summer clinics. She was previously involved with Manassas Battlefield Youth Lacrosse, Lucky 4's Lacrosse Club, and other camps/clinics. She is a Level Two Certified Coach with US Lacrosse and has completed certifications through the Positive Coaching Alliance, American Sport Education Program, American Safety Training Institute, and is CPR/First Aid certified. Coach Weaver enjoys hanging out with her dog, Todd, who also loves lacrosse and periodically attends practices.

Emily Johnson

EMILY JOHNSON - 2020 Team Assistant Coach

Coach Johnson started playing lacrosse in 6th grade with Manassas Battlefield Youth Lacrosse (now Brigade), and continued into high school and college at Brentsville and Christopher Newport University.  She was a 4 year starter at CNU, where she helped lead the team to 3 consecutive USA South Conference Championships and NCAA Tournament appearances in 2011, 2012, and 2013. In 2013, she helped the team reach its first ever sweet 16 appearance.  She was named 1st team All USA South and 2nd team All VaSID in 2013, and First Team All CAC, 1st team All VaSID, and 2nd team IWLCA All Region in 2014.  She currently holds the record at CNU for most caused turnovers in a season and career, as well as ground balls in a season.  

Coach Johnson began her coaching career in High School when she helped coach Brigades first ever U9 team.  She then continued to help Julie O’Neill with Lucky 4s and Battlelax through high school and college.  She also coached with TripleEdge for 3 years.  She is the assistant varsity coach at Patriot High School under Coach Julie O’Neill.  She is currently Level 1 Certified through US lacrosse, and also completed the certifications through the Positive Coaching Alliance, American Sport Education Program, and CPR/First aid certified.

DANIELLE GUTTER - 2022-2023 Team Assistant Coach

Danielle played high school lacrosse as a MidFielder at Moravian Academy from 1984-1988.  She coached the girls 7/8 Brigade team in 2016-2017 with a winning season of 8 wins and 2 losses.  She enjoys mentoring and coaching young players as they learn the sport of lacrosse.  She lives in Haymarket with her husband and two children, Cassidy (14) and Gabriel (12).

Tucker Ophof, MBA

TUCKER OPHOF - 2025-2026 Team Head Coach

Coach Ophof has been been involved with lacrosse for more than 30 years, when he started playing youth lacrosse in Northern NJ. He played 4 years of varsity in High School and his freshmen year at Division II Long Island University CW Post. He got start into coaching with the Fort Hunt Boys program when his younger brother started playing lacrosse in middle school and coached him for two years before he went on to play high school lacrosse at Mount Vernon HS and eventually playing at Division I UMBC.

Coach Ophof has been coaching with the Brigade Lacrosse Club for more than 9 years. He started coaching his oldest daughter Tanner who recently graduated from Patriot HS when she was in 3rd grade and coached her through 8th grade until she moved on to Patriot HS. After she moved on to HS Coach Ophof moved down to coach his youngest daughter Karson currently a rising 4th grader when she started playing in kindergarten. Coach Ophof also served as the Girls Commissioner with Brigade Lacrosse for 1 1/2 years. Coach Ophof also has a rising 8th grader Riley who has been playing in for Brigade since kindergarten and is currently coached by his wife Jenny Ophof. All three of his daughters have played travel lacrosse with various programs, including BattleLax, SuperNova and CAVS Lacrosse.

Coach Ophof loves being involved with the girls program and is committed to the development and success of Galaxy Lacrosse. His coaching style emphasizes teaching the fundamentals of the game, while making sure that the girls have fun in the process.

MICHAEL JORDAN- 2025-2026 Team Head Coach

Coach Jordan has been coaching youth sports for almost 20 years. He enjoys working with the children to help them develop character, learn how to be competitive, and win in sports as well as in life. His philosophy is based on structure, discipline, fundamentals, and love for the game.

His coaching experience includes lacrosse, football, and soccer. The teams he has coached have always been extremely competitive and have been in both rec leagues and travel leagues. Most recently, he coached a tournament/rec league spring lacrosse team to an undefeated season in the Shenandoah Valley and a travel football team to a State Championship.

Coach Jordan is proud and excited to be a part of the 2025 - 2026 team and the opportunity to work with your children and look forward to a successful season.
